Synesis Launches Next-Generation CMMS for Manufacturing

Synesis International is excited to announce the launch of the new generation of Synesis CMMS — a modern Computerized Maintenance Management System designed to bring predictive maintenance, asset reliability, and total cost of ownership management together for manufacturers. Less unplanned downtime. Longer asset life. Quality-critical equipment that's always ready when production needs it.

Why a New CMMS Now

Maintenance is one of the largest controllable costs in a manufacturing operation — and one of the least visible. Reactive maintenance is expensive, scheduled maintenance is wasteful when it's not data-driven, and asset reliability is impossible to manage without history. The new Synesis CMMS replaces paper work-order books, scattered Excel asset registers, and tribal knowledge with a connected, intelligent maintenance system that knows what's broken, what's about to break, and what to do about it.

What's in the Platform

Synesis CMMS covers the full asset lifecycle from acquisition through retirement:

  • Asset Management — Hierarchical asset register with parent/child relationships, criticality, location, cost, and complete maintenance history
  • Preventive Maintenance — Frequency-based, meter-based, and condition-based PM scheduling with automatic work-order generation
  • Work Orders — Plan, dispatch, execute, and close work orders with labor, parts, and downtime capture
  • Spare Parts & Inventory — Parts catalog with min/max levels, automatic reorder, and parts-to-asset linkage
  • Vendor Management — Service providers, contracts, and outsourced maintenance tracking
  • Downtime Tracking — Reason-coded downtime capture with root cause linkage
  • Task Library — Reusable maintenance procedures, safety checks, lockout/tagout steps, and inspection plans
  • Maintenance Dashboards — MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, work order backlog, and downtime cost analytics with drill-down

Predictive Maintenance, AI-Powered

The defining feature of Synesis CMMS is the AI predictive layer. The system monitors maintenance history, downtime patterns, work-order outcomes, and (where available) equipment sensor data — and identifies assets that are trending toward failure before they fail. Maintenance teams get a prioritized list of assets to attend to, ranked by predicted failure window and business impact. Over time, the AI gets sharper as it learns from your assets, your environment, and your operating patterns.

Closed-Loop With Quality and Production

Synesis CMMS does not run in isolation. Quality-critical equipment links directly to Synesis QMS calibration records, so an out-of-tolerance instrument creates both a calibration record and a quality investigation. Production-critical equipment downtime in CMMS is reflected immediately in Synesis MES capacity planning, so the schedule adapts in real time. A CMMS equipment failure on a quality-critical asset triggers an automatic QMS quality event, an inspection of work-in-process produced on that asset, and a maintenance investigation in CMMS — all linked, all traceable.

Mobile-First for Maintenance Technicians

Maintenance technicians don't sit at desks. Synesis CMMS is mobile-first — work orders display on tablets and phones with the right safety procedures, parts list, drawings, and history. Technicians close work orders, capture downtime, and request parts directly from the work order screen. Photos and voice notes are first-class citizens.

Deploy Where You Want

Synesis CMMS is hosting-agnostic. You choose where it runs:

  • On-premise behind your plant firewall, alongside your existing operational technology
  • Microsoft Azure, integrated with your existing Azure tenant
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS), on your existing AWS infrastructure
  • Any hosted provider — your IT team chooses

The system runs on a modern Microsoft license-free architecture but integrates deeply with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Azure, Power Automate, Power BI, and Microsoft Copilot — without per-user Microsoft 365 license dependencies.

Available Now

Synesis QMS, MES, and CMMS are available immediately for new and existing customers. The platform runs on a modern Microsoft license-free architecture and deploys where you choose — on-premise, on Microsoft Azure, on Amazon Web Services, or on the hosted solution of your choice. No vendor lock-in. No per-user Microsoft 365 license dependency.

Part of an Integrated Manufacturing Platform

Synesis CMMS is the maintenance and asset-reliability pillar of a three-system manufacturing platform that also includes Synesis QMS for closed-loop quality and Synesis MES for production execution. The three systems share data, share workflows, and share an AI engine that learns across quality, production, and maintenance.

Get Started

Synesis QMS, MES, and CMMS are available now for manufacturers across automotive, aerospace, life sciences, food and beverage, textile and apparel, packaging, and discrete and process manufacturing. The Synesis team — with 30 years of manufacturing IT consulting experience — provides implementation, configuration, training, and ongoing optimization for every deployment.
